Cleveland Browns rookie safety Grant Delpit tore his achilles in practice Monday which will end the second round pick’s season prematurely.
The worst fears of the Cleveland Browns have been confirmed. Rookie Grant Delpit has tore his achilles ending his season.
Delpit was carted off the practice field Monday before participating in the team drill. As soon as the injury occurred a serious injury seemed to very much possible. Delpit grabbed his leg after the injury and was pounding the ground while on his stomach.
This is bad news for the Browns secondary. This unit was thin to begin with and now it is even thinner. Delpit was expected to be a starter and losing a starter is never good, especially one that is highly regarded. Cleveland will have to hope for others to play above their skill level for the safety position to not be a complete liability.
