Gary Kubiak not an option for Browns

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski will have to look elsewhere for his next offensive cooridnator since Gary Kubiak is staying in Minnesota.

This seemed to be more of a pipe dream than anything. Gary Kubiak will not be joining Kevin Stefanski in Cleveland. Kubiak will be the Vikings offensive coordinator, replacing the position vacated by Stefanski’s departure. The Browns now have to explore other options to join Kevin Stefanski’s staff.

There is a section of people who were fans of the Kevin Stefanski under the condition that Gary Kubiak would still be able to advise him, or at least come with him to be his offensive coordinator.

Gary Kubiak advised Kevin Stefanski last season as it was his first as full-time offensive coordinator. Mike Zimmer praised Gary Kubiak, stating how beneficial he was to the success of the offense this past season. Many believe that the success the Vikings had last season can be attributed to Kubiak and not necessarily Stefanski.

Cleveland will have to look elsewhere to find their next offensive coordinator. That is if they do have one next season. Kevin Stefanski stated that he may not even have an offensive coordinator this season. Instead, acting as his own offensive coordinator. A strategy that has been tried in Cleveland but little success has been found. If this is the route that Stefanski goes down it will not be popular.

The Browns are more likely focused on finding their next general manager at the moment. Cleveland is still working on that process and it may be coming to an end sooner rather than later.
