Francisco Lindor to the Dodgers?

The Cleveland Indians and Los Angeles Dodgers have been discussing a blockbuster deal that involves shortstop Francisco Lindor.

The Cleveland Indians are going to be an active team this offseason. They have several players that will interest teams looking to improve their roster. The includes Francisco Lindor. The Los Angeles Dodgers have shown interest in Lindor and trade talks are happening, although they are preliminary at this point.

Yes, take anything Bob Nightengale says with a major grain of salt, but this isn’t a surprise to anyone. Most expect Francisco Lindor to be dealt sooner rather than later. The Dodgers seem like a logical trade partner. They have MLB ready players who are under team control. This will keep the Indians a competitive team and keep costs down. Two goals the Tribe are looking to accomplish.

The inclusion of Gavin Lux is not a surprise. The expectation is that Lux is someone who must be included to move Francisco Lindor. Dustin May came a bit of nowhere until the report about the Indians and Angels were discussing Corey Kluber. This makes the picture a bit clearer. Moving a starter in Kluber while acquiring a starter in May.

Of course these talks are only preliminary. The fact that Lux and May are mentioned in reports right now is that there is a baseline that one side is offering. An initial offer of sorts. There are still many other parts to be worked out. Mostly about the inclusion of other players. Players that could include Corey Seager, Justin Turner, Max Muncy or maybe even Alex Verdugo. The reality is that just the two of Lux and May is not nearly enough for Francisco Lindor.
