Former Cavs forward John Holland signs in Russia

Former Cleveland Cavaliers small forward John Holland has signed a deal in Russia with UNICS Kazan of the VTB United League.

John Holland has signed a deal that will see him playing basketball in Russia. The former Cavs forward will be playing for UNICS Kazan of the VTB United League.

Holland last appeared in the NBA for Cleveland during the 2018-19 season. The 31-year old forward made 25 appearances during his two years with the Cavs, his only appearance in 2018-19 was for 44 seconds in a loss to Toronto. Holland’s 24 appearances the year before saw Holland average 2.3 points and 1 rebound in 7.3 minutes per game.

This is not John Holland’s first time playing in Europe. Holland played in Spain, France, and Turkey before being acquired by the Canton Charge in 2015. Interestingly enough Holland actually appeared in a playoff game before a regular season game (appearing with Boston in 2015-16). Holland would play in the Philippines and Israel before signing in Russia Monday.
