The Cleveland Cavaliers big man will miss 1-2 weeks due to injury.
This is hardly the type of news that the Cleveland Cavaliers want to hear with the preseason set to kick off. Evan Mobley is expected to miss 1-2 weeks with a right ankle sprain. The good news is that is a short recovery timeframe and not something more serious than a sprain.
October 19th is the date to focus on as that is when the Cavs regular season kicks off, facing the Raptors in Toronto. As long as Evan Mobley can properly recover and be ready to go when the games that matter start there is not a reason to be concerned.
Evan Mobley appeared in 69 games as a rookie, making an impact from the start. Mobley averaged 15 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.7 blocks in 33.8 minutes per game. A leap in year two would take the 21-year old to superstar status. If the leap comes as expected big things could happen for the Cavaliers this season.
