Earl Thomas is not the answer for Cleveland

Former Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens safety Earl Thomas is not the answer for the Cleveland Browns defense.

With Grant Delpit’s injury the Cleveland Browns defense may need to find some help. While some may point to Earl Thomas as answer, Cleveland should take a pass on the recently released safety.

This is not a talent issue with Earl Thomas, nobody is arguing his talent. This is a locker room issue. There have been multiple stories about Thomas and his clashes with Baltimore dating back to last season. The most recent incident being a fight during practice this past week which led to his release. Baltimore decided that they would be a better team without Thomas in their secondary and Cleveland should take note.

The issues in Baltimore were not the first time that Earl Thomas clashed with a well regarded organization, things did not end well for Thomas in Seattle either. That is two teams that have good cultures and are respected for how they go about their business that moved on. The Browns are far from being anywhere close to Seattle or Baltimore and that is the issue here. Cleveland needs to realize that they are so far away from being on that level they need to take into account that teams better on and off the field essentially said thanks, but no thanks twice since the end of the 2018-19 season.

Cleveland needs to look at two better organizations from top to bottom and follow their lead.
