The shorthanded Cleveland Cavaliers came out on top against the Memphis Grizzlies 94-90.
It was a battle of shorthanded squads as both the Cleveland Cavaliers and Memphis Grizzlies were down multiple key players. Cleveland was without Collin Sexton, Darius Garland, Kevin Love, Matthew Dellavedova and Dante Exum. Memphis was without Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. This was certainly not a clash of the titans, it was more of a battle of complimentary players and Cleveland won. This win snaps a two-game losing streak and gets the Cavs back above the .500 mark at 5-4.
The Cavaliers were carried by the duo of Andre Drummond and Larry Nance Jr. Drummond extended his team record double-double streak to nine with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Nance had a perfect shooting night making all seven field goal attempts including four three-pointers totaling 18 points. Nance contributed in other areas as well, finishing with 4 assists, 3 rebounds and 3 steals.
It was another spectacular night for JaVale McGee off the bench as he led the Cavaliers second unit yet again. McGee had 13 points on 4-7 shooting (1-1 3PT), 1 steal, and 1 block in 17 minutes. With his fourth made three-pointer of the season it is a career-high for McGee, passing his previous high of three last season with the Lakers.
