D’Ernest Johnson placed on reserve/COVID-19 list

The Cleveland Browns have placed the running back on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

D’Ernest Johnson has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list by the Cleveland Browns. The third-year running back carried the ball five times for 13 yards and caught one pass for one yard in Monday’s 26-14 loss to Pittsburgh.

There has been several times when the Browns have needed to call on D’Ernest Johnson this season and they have been able to get solid production from their third running back. Johnson has 75 carries for 411 yards and two touchdowns in addition to 18 receptions for 127 yards in 16 games (two starts). This is impressive production from a player who has played just 27% of Cleveland’s offensive snaps this season compared to Nick Chubb’s 55% and Kareem Hunt’s 44%. Johnson has certainly proved he is an NFL caliber running back and deserves a shot at more playing time either in Cleveland or elsewhere.
