Denzel Ward has calf injury, will have MRI

The Cleveland Browns cornerback has a calf injury requiring an MRI to determine the severity of the injury.

The Cleveland Browns are already without one key defensive player in Myles Garrett this week and could be down another due to an injury to Denzel Ward. Ward told the team he has a calf injury and will have an MRI.

Denzel Ward is yet to play a full 16 game season having missed three and four games in his first two years respectively. Ward has played in all 10 games this season and was on track to play all 16 before this recent injury.

If Denzel Ward is forced to miss Week 12 against the Jaguars it could leave the Browns defense vulnerable. While the Jaguars are not the most prolific opponent, at some point when a team is down enough players things start to even out. Cleveland is already without Greedy Williams and Grant Delpit in the secondary, neither player has appeared in a game this season due to injuries. Without Ward that leaves Terrance Mitchell, Tavierre Thomas, Kevin Johnson, and MJ Stewart as the options at corner.
