Cleveland Cavaliers rookie Darius Garland is expected to return at some point on their current road trip, but an exact date has not been specified.
Darius Garland is out Tuesday vs. the Chicago Bulls, but his absence may not last much longer. The expectation is that the Cavaliers rookie could return during their current road trip.
Garland has been out since February 29th with a groin injury. Matthew Dellavedova has started three of the four games during Garland’s absence. Delly has been quite steady during this recent run, averaging 9.5 assists over the past four games and has certainly helped Cleveland at least keep things close in their first two games while winning the last two.
Darius Garland is averaging 12.3 points, 3.9 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 59 games this season. Garland is shooting 40.1% from the field, 35.5% from three-point range, and 87.5% from the free throw line.
Early on there were questions about fit when it came to Garland and Collin Sexton. Since the coaching change was made it seems like a lot of the issues were John Beilein related as the team seems to be playing significantly better under J.B. Bickerstaff. Like many of his Cavaliers teammates, Garland could also see an uptick in performance under Bickerstaff once he does return.
