The Cleveland Cavaliers managed to win their fifth and final preseason game, defeating the Indiana Pacers 110-94.
The preseason has now concluded with the Cleveland Cavaliers coming out on top over the Indiana Pacers by 16. Cleveland made 52.5% of their field goal attempts including going 13-32 from three-point range. While these numbers are encouraging to see, the fact that Cleveland still turned the ball over 19 times is less encouraging. The Cavs have struggled in the turnover department during the preseason and it appears that this will carry over into the regular season.
The final preseason game for the Cleveland Cavaliers was less about the result, but more about how some key players performed. Cleveland was without Collin Sexton, going with a starting lineup featuring Darius Garland, Isaac Okoro, Evan Mobley, Lauri Markkanen, and Jarrett Allen. Excluding Mobley, they played eight minutes or fewer, all finishing with a plus/minus of +5.
While not in the starting lineup, there were to bench players who saw similar minutes, Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio. Love played 10 minutes off the bench, making four of five field goal attempts including two of three shots from deep. Rubio made his only field goal, drained both free throws, and finished with three assists in nine minutes.
The Cavaliers regular season begins on the road as they take on the Memphis Grizzlies October 20 at 8:00 P.M.
