The Cleveland Cavaliers fell to the Brooklyn Nets by a score of 113-107
It was an up and down game and at one point Cleveland was actually ahead, but the Brooklyn Nets proved to be too much for the Cavaliers. Brooklyn took an early 31-20 lead after the first quarter and at that point it looked like it could be a long night. The Cavaliers cut the lead to five at the half and appeared to be on the right track. The third quarter saw even more improved play from the Cavaliers as they headed into the final quarter leading 85-80. However a rather predictable fourth quarter collapse occurred and the Cavaliers were not able to come out victorious as Brooklyn came out victorious.
Kevin Love and David Nwaba carried Cleveland offensively Wednesday night. Scoring 24 and 22 points respectively. Love being the leading scorer is not all that surprising, he has done it many times before over the course of his career. Love also added 16 rebounds to his team leading 24 points. Nwaba’s point total on the other hand is a different story. Ending up as Cleveland’s second-highest contributor in the scoring department is a bit surprising.
Jordan Clarkson had yet another double-digit scoring performance coming off the bench. Clarkson 14 points on 5-11 shooting, including 3-5 from three-point range. Clarkson was also able to add seven rebounds to his impressive scoring effort.
Larry Nance Jr. managed a double-double on the night with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Nance got an equal amount of offensive an defensive rebounds (5).
Collin Sexton endured another rough shooting night. With only 12 points on 4-13 shooting, Sexton needs to improve if the Cavaliers are to win more games this season.
Cleveland’s next game is Friday in Miami as they take on the Heat at 8:00 P.M.
