Cavaliers look to snap losing streak vs Celtics

The Cleveland Cavaliers will host the Boston Celtics Wednesday as they look to get back into the win column and snap a three-game losing streak.

Cleveland fought hard in their loss to Utah Monday, but were simply unable to keep up late due to being shorthanded. The Cavaliers should have more options available to them and be able to dress more than nine players against the Celtics. Boston enters Wednesday’s game at 41-19 on the year while the Cavaliers are 17-44.

Boston is 6-4 in their last 10 and are currently on a two-game losing streak. The Celtics will be without Kemba Walker and three others are day-to-day (Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Gordon Hayward). Even without all four of these players Boston would still be the clear favorite.

Cleveland is dealing with injury issues of their own and could be without some key players again. Alfonzo McKinnie and Dante Exum are obviously out. Tristan Thompson, Darius Garland, and Andre Drummond have the status of day-to-day. Missing any one of Thompson, Garland, or Drummond will make things just that much more difficult for the Cavaliers.

The Cavs will need big games out of Collin Sexton, Kevin Porter Jr., and Kevin Love in order to come out victorious. Even with them all performing at a high level it may still be too difficult to defeat Boston.

Update

Tristan Thompson has been listed as out per Chris Fedor.

Darius Garland and Andre Drummond are also listed as out. The Cavaliers will be shorthanded for the second consecutive game.
