Dan Gilbert made some comments about Kyrie trade

Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert made some highly criticized comments about the decision to trade away Kyrie Irving. Sometimes a person in charge of a sports team needs to know when to stop talking. For Dan Gilbert that time is right now. Gilbert made some statements about the Cavaliers decision to trade away Kyrie Irving. https://twitter.com/BR_NBA/status/1131368784680312832 Kyrie Irving is one of the best players in the league. Trading away a player of Irving's talent is hard to do and say a team "killed it" is a bold statement. While the trade does not appear to be a complete disaster and may eventually turn into something worthwhile, now is not the time to make this statement. Collin Sexton could turn into a player that the Cavaliers rebuild is centralized around, but ...

Cavaliers hire Bickerstaff as associate head coach

The Cleveland Cavaliers have hired J.B Bickerstaff as their associate head coach under newly hired head coach John Beilein. Bickerstaff was garnering interest around the league but the Cavaliers were able to get a deal done. Apparently the Boston Celtics also had interest in Bickerstaff, but Cleveland is where Bickerstaff will call home this season. Bickerstaff has three years of head coaching experience under his belt. Cavaliers have fifth pick in NBA Draft

The NBA Draft Lottery was on Tuesday night and the Cleveland Cavaliers came away with the fifth overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Well the Cleveland Cavaliers will not end up with Zion Williamson. This is after the surprising results from Tuesday's NBA Draft Lottery. After months of hoping for a top pick Cleveland ended up with the fifth overall pick. Not exactly what was in mind when the front office essentially disassembled the team midseason. Cleveland, Phoenix and New York all had equal odds at getting a top four pick, but only New York came away with just that, (the Knicks hold the third overall pick in the draft). The Cavaliers had the highest chance of ending up with the fifth pick (27.8) and that is what they got. The disappointing part is that the Grizzlies, Lakers and P...

Cleveland Cavaliers hire John Beilein

The Cleveland Cavaliers have found their new head coach, John Beilein. Beilein spent the past 12 seasons coaching at the University of Michigan. In a move that surprised many, the Cleveland Cavaliers hired John Beilein to be the next head coach. Beilein was not mentioned as candidate at any point throughout the coaching search. https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1127917268837523456 As Adrian Wojnarowski mentions it is a five-year deal for Beilein. The length of the deal and the decision to level Michigan is a bit curious. Beilein is 66 years old and if he lasts the duration of contract he will be 71 at its conclusion. The only knock against the decision to hire Beilein is age. Outside of his age this is a fantastic hire. John Beilein has been one of the best coaches in col...

Cavaliers should consider BPA come draft time

The NBA Draft Lottery is approaching and the discussions about just what the Cleveland Cavaliers should do with their draft pick are beginning to intensify. The exact pick the Cleveland Cavaliers will have in the NBA Draft will not be known until next week. The Cavaliers share equal odds at the Number 1 pick with the Knicks and Suns. Once the pick is known through the process of the NBA Draft Lottery, discussions about Cleveland's pick can be a little more defined.Until now they have been mostly in the hypothetical realm and with that scenarios about things which may or may not happen have been commonplace. There is one thing that must be made clear in these discussions. The Cavaliers must consider the best player available to them when they make their pick. There can be a case made...

Mixed reports about Cavaliers and Rick Pitino

There have been mixed reports about the Cleveland Cavaliers having interest in current Panathinaikos head coach Rick Pitino. The first report about the Cavaliers interest in Rick Pitino came out Saturday. Cleveland has been looking to find Larry Drew's replacement since the season ended. Drew and the Cavaliers agreed to part ways after a trying season. It is easy to understand why Cleveland would have interested in Pitino. Pitino has a history of success, although it is at the college level and not the NBA. Pitino previously coached in the NBA during the late 1980's, late 1990's and early 2000's. In six seasons with the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics Pitino compiled a 192-220 record. However Cleveland has since denied the interest in Pitino. Cleveland claims they have no intere...

Should the Cavaliers trade Jordan Clarkson?

The Cleveland Cavaliers will have a decision to make in regards to Jordan Clarkson. With one year left on his deal should they trade him? Jordan Clarkson had quite the season for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Appearing in 81 games off the bench, Clarkson arguably had the best season of his career. The Cavaliers relied on the scoring of Clarkson when the starters needed rest. While that did not lead to many wins, it did show that Jordan Clarkson can be a valuable player in the NBA. With one year left on his contract the Cavaliers have two options. Extend him or trade him. The case for a contract extension Jordan Clarkson scored a career-high 16.4 points per game on 44.8% shooting coming off the bench last season. This is nothing to scoff at. Clarkson was almost a guaranteed 10+ points ...
