Carlos Carrasco will start on Friday against the Pittsburgh Pirates as the Cleveland Baseball Club begins their final regular season series.
The Cleveland Baseball Club is fresh off a four-game sweep of the White Sox and have won five straight overall. Cleveland will look to continue their good fortunes Friday as they take on the Pittsburgh Pirates with Carlos Carrasco on the mound.
Carlos Carrasco does not have the best history when facing some of the Pirates batters. Pittsburgh is slashing .310/.381/.357/.738 against Cookie in 14 at-bats. Josh Bell and Adam Frazier are both 1-3, although Bell does have a double. Jacob Stallings is 1-2 and Colin Moran is 1-1 with a walk. Erik Gonzalez, Bryan Reynolds, and Gregory Polanco are a combined 0-5 with 2 strikeouts.
The Pirates starter will be Mitch Keller and only one Cleveland batter has faced him in the past, Cesar Hernandez. Hernandez is 2-3 with 3 RBI and 1 strikeout against Keller. The 24-year old right hander has had a productive season, compiling a 3.24 ERA, 1.140 WHIP, and 7 K/9 in 16.2 innings this season. Keller is coming off his last start in which he did not allow a hit, struck out 6, and walked 2 in 6 innings against the St. Louis Cardinals.
The game is scheduled to start at 7:10 P.M.
