Browns will not tender Tae Davis

The Cleveland Browns will not tender the 24-year old linebacker and special teams player.

As things currently stand it does not appear that linebacker Tae Davis is in the immediate plans for the Cleveland Browns. The team decided to not tender Davis which will result in him becoming a free agent.

Tae Davis appeared in 22 games for the Browns over the past two seasons, mostly on special teams. It was only 25 total defensive snaps compared to 358 on special teams.

In regards to what the Browns will do to replace Davis? They will evaluate players currently on their roster under contract, look for some free agents to take a flier on, and consider options in the upcoming draft. Unless a player is special teams ace they are relatively inexpensive and replaceable. The Browns should be able to find Davis’ replacement one way or another this offseason.
