Browns trying to bring back Landry, Clowney

According to reports, the Cleveland Browns are working to re-sign Jarvis Landry and Jadeveon Clowney. This news come from a story by Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, reporting that after the team restarted the contract of the recently acquired Amari Cooper, the team was able to clear $15 million in cap space. Cabot also mentions that team is in contact with the agents of both players, trying to get deals done.

Bringing back Landry would be big for this Browns offense. Being able to pair two crisp route runners in Landry and Cooper as targets for Deshaun Watson would make a big difference in the passing game. Landry is also a vocal leader, something this team currently does not have at this moment.

As far as Clowney goes, bringing back the former number one overall pick and teammate of Watson in Houston would help their defense. Clowney had his best season in years in Cleveland and was able to avoid the injury bug. Having Clowney in the fold would allow the Browns to turn their focus to defensive tackle in free agency and the draft, as this position group is one of the worst in the league currently.
