Browns tender KhaDarel Hodge

The Cleveland Browns have placed a right of first refusal tender on the restricted free agent wide receiver.

With the legal tampering period about to begin the Cleveland Browns made one more decision in regards to their pending restricted free agent by tendering wide receiver KhaDarel Hodge. Hodge received the rest of first refusal tender from the team.

As Mary Kay Cabot states, this is the lowest of the four tenders that could be placed on a player. There is first round, second round, original round, and right of first refusal. The Browns can match any offer for the player, but they will not receive a draft pick in return if he goes elsewhere.

KhaDarel Hodge has been with Cleveland for the past two seasons and has 15 receptions for 256 yards in 25 games. The 25-year old receiver played more offense than special teams for the first time in his career last season. Prior to 2020, Hodge was primarily a special teams player with 467 special teams snaps to just 214 offensive snaps. That number was flipped with 291 plays on offense last season compared to just 85 on special teams.
