The Cleveland Browns have agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $10 million with the veteran free agent.
Jadeveon Clowney is coming to Cleveland. The Browns have agreed to a one-year deal that could be worth up to $10 million.
The Browns have attempted to sign Jadeveon Clowney in the past only to come up short. Their previous effort came last season with Clowney turning down a three-year $57 million from Cleveland.
The issue when it comes to Jadeveon Clowney is his decline in play the last few seasons combined with his injuries. Clowney has 3 sacks the last two years (zero last season) and 11 tackles for loss (4 last season). Additionally, Clowney’s 19 quarterback hits over that same timeframe (21 games) is less than his total in 2019 (21).
Best case scenario is that Jadeveon Clowney stays healthy and outperforms the trajectory his career is currently heading in. The more likely outcome is that he will become banged up at some point and his overall production will not match the hype.
