The first week of every NFL Season is always high stress. Let’s take a look at five key players for the Cleveland Browns.
- Baker Mayfield
- The 2nd year quarterback has a lot of pressure on him, and he’s hoping to avoid the “sophomore slump”. Above all the key to his success is doing what he does best, buying time with his mobility. Considering the Browns shuffled the offensive line this may be counted on more this season than last.
- Eric Kush
- The projected starter at the right guard position will have many question marks for a position previously held by Kevin Zeitler, Zeitler was traded to the Giants this past offseason. Kush will need to pull his weight keep Baker upright.
- Jarvis Landry
- Everyone is talking about how explosive the Baker+OBJ connection is going to be. Meanwhile they forget that Jarvis Landry is going to be going up a lesser defensive back. Landry will certainly have plenty of chances to prove himself.
- David Njoku
- The talented pass catcher had struggles blocking last season. With the new and improved offense, David Njoku is expected to make a leap in his blocking ability in addition to improving his receiving numbers.
- Denzel Ward
- The 2nd year corner had tackling concerns last season. Resulting with Denzel Ward suffering concussions in his rookie campaign. We can expect him to make a jump under new defensive coordinator Steve Wilks.
