Training camp has just begun for the Cleveland Browns, and there are several notable names that are currently sidelined. Four players have been placed on the physically unable to perform list, while two others are on the active/non-football injury list.
As expected, Nick Chubb, Jack Conklin, Jedrick Wills Jr., and Dalvin Tomlinson have landed on the PUP list. Considering the nature of their injuries, this is hardly a surprise. Meanwhile, Greg Newsome and Nyheim Hines are on the NFI list.
Given that Training Camp has just started, this is nothing to be overly concerned with at this time. The Browns have been aware of the fact that these four players were going to land on the PUP list before the season began for quite some time. While it may take a bit longer for some of these players to return to action than others, these are not unexpected developments taking place.
Regarding the duo on the NFI list, that just comes with the time of year. The expectation should remain that they will be ready for action once the regular season begins.
The most important thing for all parties involved is that everyone is fully healthy. It is going to be tempting to try and rush things, but patience must be exercised. There is no reason to risk a setback with anyone this far away from the regular season. Particularly for players as essential as those on the PUP list, as all four are starters. Ensuring their long-term health must be a priority, and working back carefully is crucial at this point in time.
