Browns: Just winning is not enough anymore

While the Cleveland Browns currently have won three of their first four games, the way they have came away with wins is not good enough.

In the past, any way the Cleveland Browns would win was acceptable, mostly due to the fact the team did not win very often. That is no longer the case. The Cleveland Browns came into the 2021 season with high expectations which not only include returning to the postseason, but possibly winning the division, and maybe make an extended playoff run. With those lofty goals comes a certain level of expectations in how the team wins games. While the team has won three of their first four games, the way that they are doing so is not good enough.

In all three wins the Browns have won ugly. Yes, coming away with wins is great, especially considering how much of a non-factor the passing game has been, but ugly wins against the Texans, Bears, and Vikings simply will not cut it. At some point Cleveland will not only need to play a full game, something they are yet to do, but they will need to absolutely dominate an opponent. Winning a game by a large margin that does not have any “yeah, but’s” attached would go a long way in terms of season outlook. If they are unable to do so questions will remain about the viability of this team, not just for this season, but in the future as well.
