Bieber dominates as Cleveland defeats Tigers 5-2

The Cleveland Baseball Club defeated the Detroit Tigers thanks to an excellent pitching performance.

If the Cleveland Baseball Club was going to come away with a win on Thursday they were going to need an excellent starting pitching performance. Lucky for them Shane Bieber was on the mound.

Bieber carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning before Detroit managed to get their first hit of the game. Bieber struck out 12 batters over seven innings while allowing just one run on one hit and walk.

Bryan Shaw would work the 8th and allowed one hit while walking one and striking out another.

James Karinchak took the 9th, allowing one run on one hit and one walk with two strikeouts. Even after the Tigers scored their second run of the game Karinchak didn’t falter as he got the final out of the game on a foul out to third.

Offensively the contributions came from Harold Ramirez and Eddie Rosario. Harold Ramirez drove in Jose Ramirez twice, in the 1st and 6th innings. Eddie Rosario would drive in Harold Ramirez twice, with a two-run homer in the 6th and an RBI double in the 9th.

Cleveland returns home to take on the Blue Jays for a three game set starting Friday.
