Baker Mayfield denies forcing ball to OBJ

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield denied that he was trying to foce the ball to Odell Beckham Jr. during Sunday’s loss.

While watching the Cleveland Browns get embarrassed Sunday one thing was apparent. Baker Mayfield was forcing the ball to Odell Beckham Jr. When asked about it on Tuesday Mafield denied that he was forcing the ball to him.

Baker Mayfield targeted Odell Beckham Jr. 10 times, the most out of any Browns receiver. On the Browns first series of the second half Mayfield threw in Beckham’s direction six times. The result? 0 completions and 3 first downs due to penalties. Sure, the Browns moved the ball, but it was not because of something positive that they did. It was due to the Ravens committing penalties and bailing out some awful offensive plays. Beckham would finish with 3 receptions for 22 yards.

If Baker Mayfield wants to say that he wasn’t trying to force feed Odell Beckham Jr. that’s fine, but what we saw on Sunday does not reflect what he is saying.
