The Cleveland Basseball Club will send Aaron Civale to the mound as they look to split the series with the Kansas City Royals.
The Cleveland Baseball Club is looking to bounce back from their second straight loss to the Kansas City Royals on Thursday. Aaron Civale will be making his first ever start against Kansas City.
Aaron Civale is looking to build upon his last start in which he only allowed 2 runs on 5 hits and struck out 6 batters in a 4-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. Civale has a 3.63 ERA, 1.135 WHIP, and 8.5 K/09 in 52 innings this season. The Cleveland right hander will have to do his best to keep the Royals off the base paths.
The starter for Kansas City will be Brady Singer. Singer is making his second start against Cleveland, his first coming back on July 25th. Singer allowed 2 runs on 3 hits while walking 2 and striking out 7. There are two Cleveland batters who have hits off of Singer, Cesar Hernandez and Jose Ramirez. Francisco Lindor, Oscar Mercado, Roberto Perez, Franmil Reyes, and Carlos Santana are a combined 0-10 with 5 strikeouts against Singer.
Cleveland will need two things in order to win Thursday. Their offense to find their groove and Aaron Civale to pitch well. Only one of these (Civale) seems likely to happen since Cleveland’s offense has been inconsistent all season long.
