Roberto Perez could return to team Tuesday

Cleveland Baseball Club catcher Roberto Perez could rejoin the team on Tuesday when they begin a series against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Cleveland got some good news Saturday, catcher Roberto Perez could return to the team on Tuesday.

Perez has been out since the end of July after suffering a shoulder injury. Cleveland hasn’t gotten much from the catcher position during his absence. The duo of Sandy Leon and Beau Taylor have struggled mightily and have not been able to provide much at the plate..

Sandy Leon: 4-40 ,100/.250/.125/.375 8 BB 10 SO
Beau Taylor: 0-15 .000/.059/.000/.059 1 BB 7 SO

Leon reaching on walks has been the only thing that has made the situation not a complete disaster. It is still bad, but at least Leon is getting on base. The return of Perez is an instant upgrade at the position and relegates Leon back to the bench where he belongs, only playing once or twice a week at most.
