Baker Mayfield focused on cutting “bad weight”

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield stated that his focus during this offseason was cutting the “bad weight”.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield stated Friday that he placed an emphasis on dropping some weight this offseason.

There is one thing everyone noticed when it came to Baker Mayfield in 2019, he was out of shape, The Cleveland Browns quarterback was noticeably bigger and people noticed. Mayfield did not have the mobility that was put on display during his time at Oklahoma and his rookie season. Mobility was something that Mayfield also said mentioned Friday.

Mayfield’s disappointing sophomore campaign definitely played a role in his decision to lost weight. Mayfield was on the receiving end of memes and a parody twitter account aptly titled “Fat Baker Mayfield”. While there is nothing saying that he definitely saw anything meme or parody account related, it is worth mentioning that he does have enough of an online presence that it is not that farfetched.

If Baker Mayfield is actually going to turn things around in a make or break year being in shape is an obvious prerequisite. So far, so good. A good first step in the right direction, but there is still a long way to go before declaring this offseason a success.
