Cleveland routs Cincinnati 13-0

The Cleveland Baseball Club used a 10-run 7th inning en route to a 13-0 win over the visiting Cincinnati Reds.

Somebody woke up the bats. The Cleveland Baseball Club blew out the Cincinnati Reds 13-0 in the final game of their series Thursday. It was only a 3 run game entering the bottom of the 7th and then Cleveland piled on the runs. 10 runs were scored by Cleveland which gives some hope that the offense is waking up and turning things around.

Jose Ramirez was easily the player of the game. Ramirez homered from both sides of the plate, becoming the franchise leader in that category.

Ramirez also tripled in the game as he drove in 4 runs and scored 4 times.

Carlos Santana did not record a hit, but he did walk 4 times in the contest. Santana’s 4 walks helped put pressure on the Reds pitching staff and his walk in the 7th brought in the first of 10 runs in the inning.

Cesar Hernandez also had a good outing, going 2-4 including a three-run double in the 7th. Hernandez also scored 3 times and walked once.

In addition to Cleveland’s offense having a good outing, the pitching staff kept up their impressive run. Carlos Carrasco got the start, allowing 1 hit in 6 innings while walking 4 and striking out 8. Cam Hill, Phil Maton, and Adam Plutko would pitch the final 3 innings, allowing 2 hits and striking out 3 batters combined.

Cleveland will look to run their win streak to 4 as they take on the White Sox in Chicago Friday at 8:10 P.M.
