Indians give up 5 unanswered runs in loss

The Cleveland Indians lost their third consecutive Spring Training game Wednesday in Arizona.

The Cleveland Indians and Los Angeles Angels had quite the back and forth battle Tuesday afternoon. Cleveland was actually up 7-6 entering the bottom of the 8th inning before Los Angeles scored 5 unanswered runs to win 11-7. 

Hitters of note 

Franmil Reyes keeps on hitting bombs. Reyes launched his third home of the spring in the 2nd inning. 

Carlos Santana was perfect on the day (3-3) with a home run and a double. Both were the first of the spring for Santana. 

Francisco Lindor was 1-3 on the day batting leadoff for the Indians. Lindor also looks ready for the regular season to start. 

Cesar Hernandez went 2-3 with an RBI batting in the two spot. With this particular lineup there were five consecutive switch hitters when starting from the ninth spot in the order (Leon, Lindor, Hernandez, Ramirez, Santana). 

Pitchers of note 

This was the spring debut for Carlos Carrasco. Cookie allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 2 innings of work. 

Brad Hand pitched the third. Hand allowed one base runner on a walk and struck out another. 

Oliver Perez registered one strikeout during his appearance in the 4th inning. 

James Karinchak walked one batter and struck out one during the 5th inning. 

The duo of Hunter Wood and Jefry Rodriguez did not pitch well. Wood allowed 2 runs (4 scored) on one hit and one walk. Rodriguez received a loss as he  allowed 4 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks in 1.1 innings. 

The Indians will face the Diamondbacks at 3:10 Wednesday.
