There is a clear fracture in the Browns locker room. The players do not believe in the coach and the team needs to pick who they want to back.
This has seemed like a long time coming. There is a split between the coaching staff and the players. The Cleveland Browns are in their usual late season tailspin. This team is going nowhere fast and there appears to be no clear direction or plan for the team. Ownership needs make a decision regarding who they are going to choose. The players or the coaching staff, because they can’t have both.
Jarvis Landry has apparently gone the same route as Odell Beckham Jr. did earlier this season.
Usually it is best to take anything that Mike Silver says with a major grain of salt when it comes to the Browns, but this does not apply here. Silver usually takes shots at the Browns every chance he gets, this may in fact be one of them. Perhaps he is using something that actually happened to advance his own agenda.
But here is the deal. The fact that other players were doing the exact same thing that Beckham did earlier is not a surprise. It is not about playing for a bad team in the Arizona Cardinals, it is about playing anywhere but Cleveland. That is what happens with a coaching staff that has no idea what they are doing.
The players on the roster do not respect the coaching staff and they do not believe in their coaches.
That is coming straight from Damarious Randall. There is no speculation about what he said, or context or when it was said. This literally happened today.
Benjamin Allbright is 100% here. The players on the Browns know that this staff are not the ones to lead them. They know that they will not achieve their goals as a team with this staff remaining intact.
If the Browns want to have any sort of future with the roster they have created, the amount of talent they have complied, they need to find someone who can turn them into a team. Right now they are a collection of talent and nowhere near being a team.
There are two options for the Browns. Keep the players and find a new staff or keep the staff and find a new roster. One is much easier to do than the other. The choice that appears to clear to pretty much everyone is side with the players and find a new coaching staff. Unfortunately this not an organization that makes the clear and obvious choice and has only made those that have puzzled everyone for two decades.
