Cade York had “tired” leg

The Cleveland Browns rookie kicker received 10 days of rest in preparation for the regular season.

Cade York has looked the part so far in training camp and preseason leading to the hope that the Cleveland Browns have finally solved their kicker problem. With that being said a concern popped up prior to Sunday’s matchup in Carolina. York reportedly was dealing with a tired leg and was resting after the third and final preseason game per special teams coordinator Mike Priefer.

Priefer also mentioned that York is ramping back up, alleviating some concerns about his readiness. The break is still something to monitor should York not have his usual kick power or if his accuracy is impacted. Even just a slight difference can result in a different outcome of any kick. If there are any concerns about the viability of using York in the correct manner, expect Kevin Stefansi to alter his strategy in regards to his aggressiveness or lack-thereof. The comfort with York and the status of his leg which may or may not still be tired will be discovered fairly quick as the Browns do not have a large margin for error this season.
