The Cleveland Browns are designating the second year linebacker for return from injured reserve.
A little bit of help could be on the way for the Cleveland Browns defense. After suffering an injury in training camp and missing every game up to this point, Jacob Phillips has been designated to return from injured reserve.Jacob Phillips was supposed to take a step forward in development and grow into a role for this season after playing sparingly as a rookie (29% of snaps in nine games). Phillips totaled 25 total tackles (15 solo) including one sack in his limited time on the field in 2020-21. Taking the field without Phillips and additional injuries to other linebackers (Anthony Walker, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah) has led to backup/bench type players seeing more snaps than they should be. When Phillips does return it could help stabilize the linebacking group from a depth standpoint.The #Browns have designated LB Jacob Phillips for return from IR.
