The Cleveland Baseball Club was carried by a strong pitching performance and timely hitting from a certain third baseman.
Three cheers for sweet revenge right? Well, not exactly. The Cleveland Baseball Club flipped the script on the Chicago White Sox, just one day after losing 1-0, it was a shutout victory for the home team this time around.
Eli Morgan started the game for Cleveland, allowing just one hit in 6 innings. The surging Morgan struck out six batters while walking one in what has been yet another impressive performance. Morgan’s outing combined with the offensive output resulted in a final result that was hardly in doubt.
Jose Ramirez came through with an impressive effort Saturday night, driving in three runs thanks to his 36th home run of the season, a two-run shot in the 1st.
Cleveland also got a power boost from an unlikely source, Andres Gimenez homered in the 3rd for his fifth long ball of the year.
As a team Cleveland finished the game with eight hits, with three going for extra-bases, the homers from Ramirez and Gimenez along with a double from Myles Straw. Cleveland batted 3-4 with runners in scoring position compared to Chicago’s 0-8 performance.
The final game of the series will take place Sunday at 1:10 P.M.
