McKenzie, Quantrill, Allen make Opening Day roster

The three pitchers have made the Opening Day roster for the Cleveland Baseball Club.

The pitching staff for the Cleveland Baseball Club is taking shape. Triston McKenzie, Cal Quantrill, and Logan Allen have made the Opening Day roster per reports.

This seemed to be the end result after the team traded Adam Plutko Saturday to the Baltimore Orioles.

Quantrill should figure to be an important option out of the bullpen while McKenzie and Allen fill in the rotation in some manner. There is the possibility that the latter two could be piggyback options as mentioned by Zack Meisel. Considering the lack of innings pitched between the two this could be the best path forward to ensure the best performance from the two young pitchers. This also allows the team some flexibility with their pitching if there is a reason to adjust due to injury or concerns with effectiveness.
