Collin Sexton carries Cavs to victory over Nets

Young Bull made his return to the Cleveland Cavaliers and led the team to victory over the Brooklyn Nets.

Collin Sexton made his return Wednesday night and made quite the impact. Sexton carried the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 147-135 double overtime victory over the Brooklyn Nets in his first game back since January 6th.

At one point late in the game, Collin Sexton scored 20 straight points. This included a game-tying three-pointer with 1.2 seconds left in overtime to send the game to double overtime.

Simply put, there was no stopping Collin Sexton. Sexton finished with a career-high 42 points on 16-29 from the field including making 5 of 11 three-point attempts. Perhaps the most unexpected play was a chase down/sneak below block of Kevin Durant.

Collin Sexton did have some help in taking down the new look Nets. Cedi Osman scored 25 points including 11 points in the 1st quarter. Taurean Prince came off the bench in his Cavs debut and had an impressive all around performance. Prince finished with 17 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. The other Cavalier to make his debut was Jarrett Allen who put together a casual double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

The Cavs did an excellent job forcing the Nets to make mistakes and turn the ball over. Brooklyn turned the ball over 16 times and 10 of those were steals by the Cavs. Larry Nance Jr. led Cleveland in that area with 4 steals, adding to his league leading total. Nance is averaging 2.5 steals per game (35 total) in 14 games.

The Cavaliers will have a chance to get back above .500 as they face the same Nets team Friday at 7:30 P.M.
