Cavs re-sign Matthew Dellavedova

The Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to re-sign the 30-year old point guard and fan favorite to a one-year deal.

Matthew Dellavedova will be continuing his second stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers for another season. Dellavedova has agreed to a one-year deal with the Cavs.

Marc Stein would follow up this tweet reporting that the Lakers were interested in Matthew Dellavedova for one of their final open roster spots. Delly opted to stay in Cleveland with one of the two teams that he has played for in his career.

The Cavaliers figure to use Matthew Dellavedova as a bench player this upcoming season. Cleveland’s rotation already features the likes of Collin Sexton, Darius Garland, and Kevin Porter Jr. That is before mentioning that Cleveland acquired Dante Exum last season, sort of a buy-low lottery ticket type acquisition. Dellavedova averaged 3.1 points and 3.2 assists in 14.4 minutes across 57 games last season. The Cavs should lean on their younger guard options with Dellavedova being a veteran presence who can step in if needed.
