Larry Nance Jr sees double-double streak end

Larry Nance Jr had a streak of six straight double-doubles come to an end in Wednesday’s 148-139 triple overtime loss to the Brooklyn Nets.

It was quite a run for Larry Nance Jr. The Cavaliers power forward was on a run of six straight double-doubles heading into Wednesday night’s game against the Brooklyn Nets. Unfortunately that streak came to an end as Nance was unable to continue his impressive run.

Larry Nance Jr’s double-double streak started January 29 against the Wizards
  • 1/29 vs Washington: 13 points, 11 rebounds
  • 2/2 vs Dallas: 11 points, 12 rebounds
  • 2/5 vs Boston: 11 points, 12 rebounds
  • 2/8 at Washington: 10 points, 19 rebounds
  • 2/9 at Indiana: 16 points, 10 rebounds
  • 2/11 vs New York: 15 points, 16 rebounds

While the Cavaliers were only able to win two of the games listed, Larry Nance Jr was able to put together a string of impressive performances. Two games stick out over the double-double streak. The loss at Washington and the victory over New York.

In the loss in Washington Larry Nance Jr was able to grab 19 rebounds. Five of which were offensive rebounds. Corralling 19 rebounds is no small feat and when a player puts together a performance like this it will stick out.

In the victory over New York Larry Nance Jr was also able to make headlines with his rebounding. Nance tied his father’s single-game franchise record for offensive rebounds with 10. Managing to get 10 offensive rebounds in a single game is extremely impressive. The fact Nance was able tie a record his father set in a Cavaliers uniform is definitely a heartwarming moment.

While it is unfortunate that Larry Nance Jr saw this double-double streak come to an end, he is more than capable of starting a new one next Thursday when Cleveland plays their first game after the All-Star break.
