The Cleveland Baseball Club reinstated the 27-year old pitcher from the 45-day injured list after missing all of the 2020 season.
A possible contributor in 2021 has been reinstated from the injured list by the Cleveland Baseball Club, Jefry Rodriguez. Rodriguez missed the 2020 season due to a shoulder injury.
Jefry Rodriguez was not a part of Cleveland’s rotation before getting hurt, with the injury occurring at the Alternate Training Site. With the rotation Cleveland had coming into the season there was not a need for Rodriguez. He was the odd man out with Shane Bieber, Mike Clevinger, Carlos Carrasco, Zach Plesac, and Aaron Civale as their starters. Now with Clevinger in San Diego and the uncertain future of Carrasco in Cleveland, Rodriguez may have a shot at being a contributor in 2021. There are other options the team can turn to, but Jefry Rodriguez should be given a chance to make the Major League roster.
