Mike Freeman waived, becomes free agent

The 33-year old veteran has decided to become a free agent after being waived by the Cleveland Baseball Club.

If there was one player that fans of the Cleveland Baseball Club wanted to see the team move on from it was Mike Freeman. Well, those fans got their wish as the team waived the veteran utility player. Freeman has elected free agency after being waived by the club.

Mike Freeman has been in Cleveland for the past two seasons and has made his fair share of appearances, perhaps too many to be honest. In 99 games Freeman slashed .270/.352/.377/.729, numbers that may shock some fans who didn’t want to see him on the field, much less the roster. While his numbers in 2020 dropped significantly compared to 2019, it is not like the rest of the roster was giving the team much choice in the matter. Cleveland tried an almost endless list of players to attempt to get contributions from, but none were able to do so consistently. At the end of the day, if there was someone worthy of taking playing time away from Mike Freeman they were not able to do it during his time in Cleveland.
