Former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Damion Ratley has been claimed by the New York Giants.
Damion Ratley has a new home. After being cut by the Cleveland Browns on Saturday the third year receiver was claimed by the New York Giants.
The Cleveland Browns selected Damion Ratley in the 6th Round of the 2018 NFL Draft. This was the second pick of the former John Dorsey regime that the team cut this past weekend (the other being Chad Thomas). In his two years with the team Ratley caught 25 passes for 344 yards and 1 touchdown with sporadic playing time.
There simply was not enough room on the roster for Damion Ratley. The Browns are running an offense which not rely as much on the wide receiver position, limiting his chances to make an impact. Instead Cleveland will use Rashard Higgins as their third wide receiver, a role which is not important in this offensive scheme.
