23rd lawsuit filed against Deshaun Watson

When the Cleveland Browns acquired Deshaun Watson from the Houston Texans there were 22 active civil lawsuits that have been filed. That number has now increased to 23. Watching the HBO documentary about Watson led to the 23rd individual changing their mind and filing a lawsuit.

Additionally it was the “no regrets” comment from Deshaun Watson played a factor in her decision.

When asked about the 23rd lawsuit being filed, head coach Kevin Stefanski referenced work done prior to acquiring Watson from Houston.

As things stand currently it is the waiting game for Cleveland and their new quarterback. The NFL is taking their time in regards to potential disciplinary measures and the severity of those measures. The duration of those measures will have a massive impact on the outlook of the 2022-23 season in Cleveland. With Deshaun Watson the Browns can be considered one of the better teams in the AFC. Without Watson they are more towards the middle of the pack at best. Cleveland can manage to weather the storm for a handful of games, but half the season or more would put the team in trouble and may be too much to overcome.

UPDATE

Since this was published a 24th lawsuit has been filed against Watson according to reports.
