Zach Plesac throws Immaculate Inning vs Tigers
Cleveland Baseball Club pitcher Zach Plesac threw an Immaculate Inning during his start against the Detroit Tigers Friday.
Every once in a while something incredibly rare happens in a baseball game. That was the case Friday night for Zach Plesac when facing the Detroit Tigers. Plesac threw an Immaculate Inning against Detroit and was a perfect exampe of his dominance Friday.
An Immaculate Inning is striking out all three batters faced with only nine pitches thrown in the inning. Ryan Spaeder compared the rarity of an Immaculate Inning to that of a Perfect Game.
While there are more Immaculate Innings, the rate at which they happen is less than that of a Perfect Game.
