Tristan Thompson

Tristan Thompson on an impressive tear

Cleveland Cavaliers center Tristan Thompson has been on an impressive run over his past 10 games, averaging a double-double.

If there is one thing that Tristan Thompson can do it is rebound the basketball. Thompson has grabbed 125 rebounds over his past 10 games. Thompson also has showed some offensive prowess during this stretch, averaging 11.7 points per game. What this amounts to is a 11.7 points and 12.5 rebounds per game average. That’s pretty impressive for someone who can be limited at times on offense.

The rebounding numbers are usually pretty steady for Thompson. Thompson finished with double-digit rebounds in nine of the last 10 games. Thompson had 15 rebounds three times, 14 rebounds twice, 13 rebounds once, 11 rebounds twice, and 10 rebounds once during this stretch.

The Cavaliers center scored in double-digits in all but four games over the last 10. This includes a three game stretch which saw Thompson only scored 17 points total. Thompson started off with 14, 10, 3, 12, 12, and 14 before his low-scoring efforts.

Friday’s game in Detroit boosted his scoring average. Tristan Thompson finished with a career-high 35 points and added 14 rebounds. This was an impressive scoring effort which saw Thompson bounce back from his eight points he scored in Wednesday’s loss to Detroit at home.

Thompson is certainly capable of continuing this run he is on, his season averages are 12.9 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. This run has shown a little fluctuation in those numbers, but overall Thompson will give a similar effort night in and night out. Something that this Cavaliers team needs right now.
