Tristan Thompson could be on the move

The Cleveland Cavaliers are apparently making center Tristan Thompson available in trade talks prior to Thursday’s trade deadline.

Let the Cavs trade rumors begin! Tristan Thompson is apparently available to teams looking to improve their roster.

This should hardly come as a surprise. Thompson has been a trade candidate for quite some time. The Cleveland Cavaliers are going nowhere and Saturday’s blowout loss to Golden State may have been a motivating factor. Cleveland lost to one of the worst teams in the league. The Cavaliers are also one of the worst teams in the league, but there is a distinct difference between the two. Cleveland is bad with their good players while Golden State is without Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. There is rather large difference between how the teams currently stand.

Tristan Thompson is averaging a double-double for the second consecutive season. Thompson is a fantastic rebounder and can keep possessions alive on the offensive end. This exact ability was a contributing factor in Cleveland’s four straight trips to the NBA Finals, including their 2016 Championship. If Tristan Thompson were to land with the right team he may be able to help a team in a similar manner.
