Thomas Schemitsch signs with Monsters
The Cleveland Monsters have signed the 23-year old defenseman to a one-year contract.
After being part of the Florida Panthers organization Thomas Schemitsch is moving north. The Cleveland Monsters have agreed to a one-year deal with the soon to be 24-year old.
The majority of Schemitsch’s action over the past four seasons have come with the Springfield Thunderbirds. Schmeitsch appeared in 219 games for the Thunderbirds and finished with 62 points (24 goals, 38 assists).
Thomas Schemitsch even made some appearances with the Manchester Monarchs of the ECHL. In 17 regular season games Schemitsch scored 1 goal and assisted on 7 others. During his 16 postseason appearances Schemitsch assisted on 6 goals.
Schemitsch should have plenty of opportunities to carve out a role in Cleveland when the next AHL season begins.
