Mike Clevinger is back to throwing

In case you were unaware Mike Clevinger is an absolute freak. The Indians pitcher is already throwing again just two weeks after undergoing surgery for a partial meniscus tear. Aiming to beat the initial 4-6 week recovery time, Clevinger appears on track to do so. This would be the second consecutive year that Clev would come back earlier than expected. Mike Clevinger returned from a teres major injury significantly earlier than expected last season. Cleveland needs to ensure that Clevinger is careful in his aggressive approach to recovery. What cannot happen is Clevinger suffering a setback. So while the fact he is throwing right now encouraging and exciting, it needs to be done in moderation. As anyone who has been injured knows it can be very tempting to speed up the process b...

Add Adam Cimber to list of injured pitchers

Another day and another Indians pitcher dealing with an injury. Adam Cimber is dealing with some side tightness and that is hardly what the team needs right now.   Cleveland is expected to handle Adam Cimber carefully and not risk further injury. This is usually how teams handle relatively minor injuries such as this one. The Indians know how valuable he is and want to make sure he is available for when games actually count. Adam Cimber is one of the key relievers for the Tribe. Luckily it is only Spring Training. If this was the regular season this would be a huge blow to the Cleveland bullpen. This is just the latest pitching injury for the Cleveland Indians. Mike Clevinger suffered a meniscus injury and is expected to miss the start of the regular season. Emmanuel Clase is ...

Mike Clevinger to undergo surgery

The Cleveland Indians got some bad news Friday. Starting pitcher Mike Clevinger will undergo surgery due to a meniscus injury. This is not the type of news that the Cleveland Indians and their fans wanted to hear today. On the same day the signing of Domingo Santana was made official, it was announced that Mike Clevinger has a left meniscus injury which will require surgery. https://twitter.com/ZackMeisel/status/1228331875548254208?s=20 The injury is a partial tear of his left meniscus and there is not yet a timetable for his return. Cleveland is already entering the season without two of their starters from last season. Trevor Bauer was part of a three-team deal with Cincinnati and San Diego before the trade deadline last season. Corey Kluber was part of a trade that ha...

Clevinger missed a large portion of the 2019 season due to injury. Appearing in 21 games, Cleivnger posted a 2.71 ERA and 1.056 WHIP with 12.1 strikeouts per nine innings. These were all career bests for Clevinger. Clevel...

Indians-Angels discuss Mike Clevinger

The Cleveland Indians have held trade discussions with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim about starting pitcher Mike Clevinger. Mike Clevinger continues to be discussed in potential trades. Teams who didn’t sign a big time free agent pitcher are still looking to upgrade their rotation.  Going to the pitching rich Cleveland Indians is a good place to start. Cleveland seemingly churns out starting pitching and can hypothetically move one pitcher to upgrade their position players. The Angels did not sign Gerrit Cole and are looking to upgrade via trade. Los Angeles previously held discussions with Cleveland regarding Corey Kluber. Of course the first player Cleveland asked about was Jo Adell. Adell is one of the best prospects in all of baseball and is expected to join Mike Trout in ...

Airing of grievances: Indians edition

It is time for the airing of grievances for the Cleveland Indians.  Second base Who is going to be the starting second baseman? Is it an internal option or will a free agent be signed? Perhaps a trade will be made that solves the second base issue? Just do something, we are all tired of waiting. UPDATE: The Cleveland Indians have signed second baseman Cesar Hernandez to a one-year deal. It's a Festivus miracle! Outfield  Besides Oscar Mercado there isn’t an everyday outfielder on the roster. Franmil Reyes is a designated hitter. Jake Bauers has potential and upside, but seems more like a first baseman. Serious moves need to be made. Standing pat with the group currently on the roster will not sit well with Indians fans. This is a group of people who are qui...

Mike Clevinger drawing trade interest

Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Mike Clevinger is drawing trade interest from both the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers. It seems like the teams that missed out on trading for Corey Kluber are attempting to acquire a different pitcher from the Cleveland Indians. Mike Clevinger. https://twitter.com/ByRobertMurray/status/1207691877589377024?s=20 The fact that both the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers are interested makes sense. Both teams were at one point in on Kluber and they both need help in their rotation. San Diego wants to make their move and contend for the playoffs this season. The clear weakness for San Diego is pitching. Chris Paddack is great, but after that it is a ton of question marks. Acquiring Zach Davies is a step in the right direction, but...

Plenty of Indians trade speculation

There has been some speculation and rumors surrounding the Cleveland Indians and possible trades of Francisco Lindor, Corey Kluber and Mike Clevinger. It is definitely check your source season. There are plenty of rumors that involve the Cleveland Indians. Some are legitimate. Others, not so much. A perfect example is the trade rumor that Zack Meisel of The Athletic shot down immediately. https://twitter.com/ZackMeisel/status/1205239597921382437?s=20 That would be a large return for Francisco Lindor. It would give Clevland three young controllable players in Lux, Verdugo and May. Too bad it isn't real. The inclusion of Austin Barnes in this rumor is a bit of a head scratcher. Cleveland already has Roberto Perez and recently acquired Sandy Leon. Leon is obviously the backup...
