NFL fines Odell Beckham Jr. over pants

The NFL determined Odell Beckham Jr.’s pants were a top priority as they fined the Browns receiver for how high they were on his legs.

The NFL really could be doing some productive things with their time. Evaluating the absolutely awful officiating, ensuring safety of players or even having discussions off the field issues. Instead, the NFL is spending their valuable time on pants. PANTS!

Odell Beckham Jr. was fined for his pants being above his knee in their Week 6 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks.

Beckham was fined just over $14,000 for his pants. Good to see the NFL is playing fashion police instead of addressing more important issues. How a player looks on the field is exactly what viewers tune in to see.

The fines do not seem to be consistent across the league with other players.

This appears to be pretty selective enforcement of a rule. A rule that has seen application in curious times. This is not the first time the league has acted in this manner. The questionable application of these rules only appear to involve Beckham. Whether it is a watch, a visor and now pants, the NFL appears to chomping at the bit to fine Beckham over something that nobody really cares about anyway.

The National Football League is at a point where they cannot stop themselves from looking foolish. The league fined Baker Mayfield over his comments about the lackluster officiating this season.

If this is truly an issue of safety, the NFL would enforce it every time there is a violation. They do not.

The NFL is now at a point where their own terrible decisions are taking a sizable chunk of attention away from the play on the field. If the NFL is set on making themselves look bad in the eyes of potential viewers they are doing a damn good job.
