Monsters face Checkers in Charlotte

The Cleveland Monsters are heading to Charlotte to take on the Checkers as they look to snap their current five-game losing streak.

The last time the Cleveland Monsters won a game was back on February 22nd against the Rochester Americans. Cleveland is looking to snap their five-game losing skid against the Charlotte Checkers.

Matiss Kivlenieks has returned to the Monsters and could very well start in one of the two games in Charlotte. Veini Vehvilainen may start the other game even though he has struggled recently.

Charlotte is currently in 4th place in the Atlantic Division with 69 points. The Checkers have scored 197 goals compared to giving up 169 goals in 59 games this season. Cleveland has only scored 156 times this season, 13 less than Charlotte has allowed.

Jake Bean leads Charlotte in points (46) and assists (37) in 57 games this season. The Checkers leading goalscorer is Julien Gauthier with 26 in 44 games.

Charlotte has used two goaltenders in a pretty even split this season. Alex Nedeljkovic (28 games) and Anton Forsberg (27 games) have seen the majority of the starts in goal for the Checkers. Nedeljkovic and Forsberg have an identical .905 save percentage while the former has a better GAA this season (2.51-2.95).

Game 1 is Tuesday at 7:00 P.M. and Game 2 is Wednesday at 7:00 P.M.
