Kevin Porter Jr. called his shot

Cleveland Cavaliers rookie shooting guard Kevin Porter Jr. called his shot on twitter early Sunday after the Cavs loss to Miami.

It’s a bold move to go on twitter and call your shot. Kevin Porter Jr. did just that early Sunday following their lopsided loss to the Heat in Miami.

Brief. Simple. Direct. Kevin Porter Jr. made sure everyone knew what was on his mind. Getting some vengeance after the Cleveland Cavaliers loss in Miami on Saturday.

Kevin Porter Jr. came off the bench and scored a career-high 30 points in 41 minutes off the bench in the overtime victory. Porter led the Cavs in scoring and minutes. New head coach J.B. Bickerstaff recognized that Porter was in the zone and kept riding the hot hand until they were to complete their comeback victory.

The rookie shooting guard made 50% of his shots (9-18 FG) on the night. Four of his made field goals were of the three-point variety. Porter added 8 more points from the free throw line on 10 attempts.

Just like his teammates, Porter did most of his damage in the second half and overtime. Porter scored 17 of his 30 points starting late in the 3rd quarter. 15 actually came in the 4th quarter and overtime. Cleveland was able to ride the run of Porter in order to complete their epic comeback.

In a season that has been difficult for all involved Kevin Porter Jr. calling his shot and backing it up is a win if there ever was one.
