Kareem Hunt

Kareem Hunt will not be charged with possession

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt will not be charged after marijuana was found in his vehicle. The Rocky River police department will not be pursue charges against Hunt according to a report in the Akron Beacon Journal.

Cleveland recently made the decision to tender Kareem Hunt, possibly leading to staying in town. This would just be another unnecessary chance given to Hunt. The latest in what seems to be an endless amount of chances given to someone who does not belong in the league.

It has been incident after incident after incident with Kareem Hunt. Hunt has somehow survived regime changes in more than one city and a coaching change in another. Hunt’s production was largely forgettable last season and the team would be better off without him. Yet he still remains on the roster.

The Browns already have a great running back in Nick Chubb. Kareem Hunt will be making quite a bit of money as Chubb’s backup next season. Sort of a confusing move for such an analytically driven front office. Paying a backup player who has off the field issues while that money could be applied elsewhere. One would think that money could have been used to keep Joe Schobert in town, but instead they are letting him walk.
